A hotel night audit closes the business day. Arrivals, departures, and charges for that date are in. The auditor then posts the night so the hotel starts the next date from a known position.
In FrontDesk, night audit has two screens. Post Night closes the current business day and moves the property forward. Change System Date sets the business date when it needs to match the day the hotel is posting.
Night audit does not create reservations or change a company’s invoice by itself. Those stay in Reservation and Company. The audit is the close.
